Somerset county, n.J., man pleads guilty to possession of child pornography on a laptop and dVDs

TRENTON, N.J. – A Somerset County, N.J., man today admitted possessing child pornography on a laptop computer and DVDs at his residence, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.
David W. Tuytjens, 56, of Bridgewater, N.J., pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Michael A. Shipp in Trenton federal court to an Information charging him with possession of child pornography.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in Court:
In April 2011, officers from the N.J. State Parole Board examined Tuytjens’ laptop computer on a visit to his residence. The parole officers conducted the visit because Tuytjens was subject to community supervision for life for prior convictions for sexual assault. The officers determined that the laptop computer contained multiple images of child pornography, which appeared to have been downloaded from the Internet. Tutyjens admitted today that he stored pictures and videos of child pornography on this laptop computer as well as on DVDs recovered from his residence.
Because of his prior conviction on sexual assault charges, the count of possessing child pornography with which Tuytjens is charged is punishable by a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum potential penalty of 20 years, and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 28, 2012. Tuytjens is in federal custody pending his sentencing.
U.S. Attorney Fishman credited the FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force, under the direction of
Special Agent in Charge Michael B. Ward in Newark, with the investigation leading to today’s guilty plea.
